Thomas Partey return boost as Mikel Arteta issues latest Arsenal injury update for Porto 

Arsenal will play first-leg away from home

In an attempt to build on their incredible 2024 start, Arsenal will travel to Portugal this week to take on FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners’ sixth straight Premier League victory came away at Burnley, 5-0.

A week prior to the crushing at Turf Moor, Mikel Arteta’s team defeated West Ham 6-1 away from home. Starting against Porto, the north Londoners will want to take their league form into Europe.

Against Burnley, Arteta managed to switch up his team, substituting players like Kai Havertz, Ben White, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka. As per football.london here is injury updates on Arsenal injury news.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

He was substituted at halftime in the victory over Liverpool but was not included in the team against West Ham due to a calf problem he has been dealing with since the New Year. He was not involved in Burnley’s crushing.

Tomiyasu Takehiro

Despite returning from the Asian Cup last week, the Japan international did not play at West Ham. Arteta acknowledged that he had a minor issue, but nothing catastrophic is believed to have happened. He did not play against Burnley, but he might return to the squad before the middle of the week.

Jesus Gabriel

He has missed the last four games due to an injury to his knee that he is still recovering from. At Turf Moor, Jesus was left out of the team.

Fabio Vieira

Following surgery, Fabio Vieira continues to recover from his injury. He took part in the winter camp held by Arsenal in Dubai, and he may return the following week when Arsenal plays Porto in the Champions League. Football.london confirms that a comeback is imminent.

Thomas Partey

He has missed the last three Gunners games due to another setback in his recuperation. It is hoped he won’t need surgery and can get back to normal as soon as possible.

Timber Jurrien

It is hoped that he will play again soon after being added to Arsenal’s Champions League squad list prior to their match against FC Porto this month in the round of 16. He has participated in a ball training programme.
