Exclusive: Arsenal in hunt to sign PL striker in the form of his life

Tottenham and Arsenal are keen on a potential deal for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (13 January) that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a “big fan” of Solanke, 26, after signing him during his time with the Cherries.

It is believed the Magpies are ready to sign an A-list striker in 2024 with any deal likely to come in the summer window.

Both Tottenham and Arsenal are also on the hunt for forward reinforcements and are running the rule over Bournemouth star Solanke after his impressive form so far in the 2023-24 campaign.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Cherries are “bracing for offers” for the one-cap England international.

Solanke has scored 13 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions – with 12 of those strikes coming in the Premier League.

He won the top-flight’s Player of the Month award in recent days after netting six goals in December.

The ex-Liverpool and Chelsea star signed a new contract on the south coast in September, keeping him on the south coast until June 2027.

Solanke joined Bournemouth in 2019 for a reported £19million plus add-ons and has hit 69 goals in 196 games for the club.

Arsenal and Tottenham sit fourth and fifth respectively in the Premier League table but are still within arm’s length of league leaders Liverpool after 20 games of the 2023-24 campaign.

Bournemouth, whose second-highest scorer is Justin Kluivert with just four goals, sit 12th in the table with a game in hand on many of their rivals.
