Mikel Arteta can secure £25m transfer windfall with triple Arsenal exit

Arsenal could look to sell Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny and Nuno Tavares in the January transfer window with all three players attracting interest. Cedric and Elneny have played a combined total of 205 minutes across all competitions this term, whilst Tavares has made just three appearances during his loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

The Portuguese left-back is valued at €20million (£17.2m) - as per CIES Football Observatory - and could be recalled if the Gunners are able to secure a permanent exit for him this month. Tavares was signed from Benfica for just £8million back in 2021 but has fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta after failing to impress.

Cedric and Elneny are both entering the final six months of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium and are both valued at just €5million (£4.3m) each. Cedric Soares is attracting interest from Besiktas and Trabzonspor ahead of the January transfer window, football.london understands.

The 32-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow Premier League outfit Fulham and could be set to leave Arsenal once again in the January transfer window. The Portuguese defender has once again found game time limited upon returning to the Emirates Stadium as he's remained the third-choice option at right-back behind Benjamin White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The former Southampton and Inter star was expected to leave Arsenal permanently during the summer transfer window, especially after attracting interest from La Liga side Villarreal and Portugal's big three clubs. Despite being happy in north London, Cedric is out of contract in the summer and it's understood he is open to the idea of an exit before becoming a free agent as offers from Besiktas and Trabzonspor could arrive when the transfer window reopens in a few days.

Not only would the sale of all three players raise around £25million, it would free up a considerable amount of funds in the wage budget. Cedric is estimated to be in the region of £100,000-per-week - a huge amount considering the lack of game time he has in the past two years.
