Juventus make Thomas Partey transfer decision after Arsenal handed huge boost
Thomas Partey has attracted plenty of interest from Juventus and Saudi Arabian clubs in the past few months. The Ghana international has dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal after struggling with injuries towards the end of 2023.
The 30-year-old has only made four appearances in the Premier League so far this season and remains sidelined with a hamstring issue. Partey's latest injury has kept him out since early November and he is not set to return to action until later this month.
When asked if Partey could return before the African Cup of Nations kicks off this month, Mikel Arteta told the press: "There is a chance, yes. We’ll have to see.
"They [Partey and Tomiyasu] haven’t trained yet so they’re still far away off that. Hopefully they can evolve in the right way."
The Gunners have been handed a huge boost with the official squad for Ghana's upcoming African Cup of Nations campaign confirming that Partey will not be involved for them in the tournament. Arteta will welcome the extra option in midfield as Arsenal continue their Premier League title challenge, whilst rivals like Liverpool lose key players in Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo.
It's unclear yet when Partey will return from injury and given the uncertainty, Juventus have now withdrawn their interest in the 30-year-old midfielder, according to Calciomercato. Massimiliano Allegri‘s request for reinforcements have led to a search for quality players, but the club’s financial constraints have seen the Italian giants take a cautious approach to spending.

Partey is now valued at just €20million (£17m) following his injury woes this season - as per CIES Football Observatory - almost half the price that the Gunners valued him at over the summer. Arsenal's only hope of selling the Ghana international now rests on Saudi Arabian clubs after Juve look to alternative options to strengthen their midfield.
